A True Before & After Story Before the work began, our home was essentially a shell after the flood—just exterior walls and studs. It still carried all of its original 80s quirks too: walls where none belonged, a 4-inch sunken living room, drop ceilings, and closets so tiny they were barely useful. It was overwhelming to look at and hard to imagine what it could eventually become. The scope of the project was a full remodel, including drywall, flooring, a completely new kitchen and bathroom with tiling, plumbing, and cabinetry. We also chose to replace the front door and convert a window into a beautiful wide slider that completely elevated the feel of the house. Going into a project this big, my biggest concerns were whether costs would creep up, whether my design choices would actually come together, and ultimately if I would feel satisfied with the finished result. What truly stood out from the start was the communication and dedication of our project manager, Rich. He came by every day to check on progress and provide in-person updates about what was happening and what to expect next. Materials arrived just in time, and there was someone working on the project every single day. Seeing constant progress made a huge difference during such a large rebuild. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding. The team was meticulous about their craft. I’ve seen completed work in other homes that looks rushed or sloppy, and this was the complete opposite. A small detail that really stood out to me was the paint—there are no drips, no stray paint on other surfaces, and the color coverage is perfectly consistent. They were also incredibly respectful of our unusual living situation during the project. We were living in an RV on the lawn while still using the bathroom in the house, and the crew was always accommodating. They cleaned up every evening before leaving, and they were kind and patient with our curious pets who always wanted to greet everyone despite our best efforts to keep them away. Of course, with a project of this size there were a few small hiccups along the way. What mattered most was how they handled them—with professionalism and a genuine commitment to making sure the outcome aligned with what I wanted. Rich was always available to stop by, call, or text. He was great at walking me through options, explaining pros and cons, and letting me decide how I wanted to proceed. Even though I saw the progress every day, the experience still felt like being on my own personal HGTV show. Now that everything is complete, the house feels like a huge upgrade from what it was even before the storm. It feels tighter, more secure, and beautifully finished. The transformation exceeded what I imagined when we started. I would absolutely recommend this team to anyone needing work done on their home. LOVE! The house turned out beautiful! Between my choices and Jason and Rich’s suggestions, we truly made our lower level just what I wanted. The custom stairs, wainscoting and backsplash are my favorite things and make the most impact. Everything really looks so clean and fresh! Rich was an excellent project manager! He was on site every day making sure things were done correctly and giving me advice when needed. He really went the extra mile to make sure the house was safe and beautiful upon completion! Working with Rich was an absolute pleasure! I cannot say that enough. The crew did an amazing job taking down all the wallpaper, which was no small task. They did a lot of projects, big and small. They not only did an awesome cosmetic renovation, but they also repaired several problem areas from various small water issues. Tom and Ron were very nice and really did try hard. Overall, they were very clean too, which I appreciated. The counter guys did a great job. Everything is seamless, which is awesome. The tile guy did a good job. The backsplash guys did great work. The carpet guys did a good job too. Now, the stair guys… they did an AMAZING job! They were the best workers I had honestly. They were so careful and precise. I loved watching them work. Reminded me of my dad, who was a carpenter. (Stairs by Tarpon Trim LLC, Bryan Petroski) We did: Porcelain tile in kitchen & laundry; paint throughout lowerlevel & upstairs hall; stairway remodel (ponywalls to custom railings); kitchen backsplash, quartz counters, flush LED trim lights, hardware & wainscoting; guest bathroom vanity/sink/faucet, shower light; new carpet on stairs/hall and guestroom; new blinds throughout lower level; front door electronic smart handle & lock; new master shower doors; replaced all wired-in smoke detectors; and two high-impact windows. We are absolutely thrilled with our kitchen remodel. Demolition began mid to late January, 2025 and the remodeled was fully complete early April, 2025. We appreciated Gary's help from the start. He helped make our vision a reality. All of the employees of US Building Construction were very competent and professional. We would like to acknowledge the professionalism and high quality work that Mike R. did for us. He helped guide us in some of the decisions that had to be made. His knowledge & skill of the work he was doing was top notch. We can not recommend him enough. All of the employees left our home so clean at the end of each day.
